The only problem with speakers in door pockets is that to fit them properly you have to drill holes in the door pillar and door for the wires to pass through.
With the ones in the link you dont.

Custom consoles ones are ok, you don't get the best sound quality from them as they're not sealed. I've just changed from a set of custom console pods to these..

The sounds quality has improved and I also think they look quite good fitted.

I have just got my mini and need some speakers upfront I have been toying with the idea of speakers in door pockets and speakers in pods attatched to to front wheel arches but I am unsure of the pros and cons of both.

So if I get door pockets I am going to have to drill holes, does this affect the door in any way. I was thinking if I got pods to put on the aches I would have to drill screws into the arches? Would I and would this mean places for water to get in and the inevitable rust?

Cheers!

'Bunch' for these do you have to screw into the arches to fit them?

I'm guessing yes, you can see the l shaped bracket on the outside of the pod at the top.

I have the Custom Consoles pods. They are ok and easy enough to fit but no particularly sturdy. They only screw to the underside of the bottom dash rail. The fronts are made from MDF and covered in whatever colour vinyl (or Walnut) but the sides are made from what feels like compressed cardboard.

I'm happy with mine for the mo but are essentially a stop gap until I get something better.
