Having a look at my wiring I think the easiest option would be to relocate the whole fuse box (I only have two fuses) on the other side of the fitch panel. A neat hole at the inside of the A panel to feed the wires in and then one right at the front almost behind the bumper bar would hide the most of it. Might be an issue in the rain though!
I really think the wiring is fairly well hidden as it is, the best bang for your buck is to move the accessories out of the engine bay. I know you can buy really tough soft plastic bags to use as a windscreen washer bottle and fit them under the guards. Reversing the mounting of the horns so they sit in the guards would not be hard, just drill a few holes to poke the wiring through. Getting rid of those tow things would give visual impact.
To achieve a clean engine bay like the picture above is probably a moot point on a road car you intend to drive. That's a Holden Torana - LC or LJ - around 1971-73 ish, can't tell from the picture. A good aussie muscle car, light body with a 6cyl engine, kinda like a factory TVR, except its all BHP steel bodied. I think you'd find it's a show car, not road registered and hardly driven so not having sound proofing wouldn't be an issue. Plus they usually leave off things like windscreen washer bottles, some switch relays etc.

You know, I just finished painting my engine bay today. With the masking tape now body coloured wrapped around the wiringit's not really noticeable. Once I peeled it all off back to black I realised just how much it stood out. Might be another cheaper, quicker option?
