if you are on a base you wouldn't need to cycle to work, surely....

I work for a coach builders which is owned by the CO-OP and they won't honour
it either....



yeh but some people live in PADS off camp with the family etc so they have to either walk cycle or drive onto camp each morning for parade and work. Also if your on a large camp where you have to get about lots of people us bikes to cut about.

And RAF camps tend to be even larger than your average Army camp as we have the Airfield to drive around on certain camps. So if you live on the other side of the airfield to where you work, it's a bit of a trek. Even lads in the block use their cars to get about camp. I know there are several sections where i am that are entitled to home to duty as they work so far away from the block

That's a good angle to go after: "Sir, have you thought how much could be saved in RPD allowances through this bike scheme?"


I reckon it's just that you haven't found anyone who can be arsed, some young admin officer ought to see the potential to earn himself some brownie points, I can hardly imagine the new gov't deliberately excluding the military - PR embarrassment in the making.
