She had a 2.1 RJD engine in running twin 45's Piper Magnum 2 cam etc etc pushing out 124 bhp at the wheels, 5 speed type 9 box single piece prop, spax adjustables, fully retrimmed interior plus a full respray in midnight blue. (There was a lot more as well)
It was a brilliant car especially on the autobahns and at max chat she was sucking fuel in the very low 10's. I would like another but the prices now are so over inflated its not true. Have thought about an angle box or a mk1 tina but i'm heading towards the idea of a totally stock looking mini with R1 running gear (Project Stealth methinks)

How long ago did you build the lightning rod OSL and what was the number?
it was awhile ago now, probably 5-6years, i cant remember the number, possibly 93? but the bloke who drove it was called robert chambers, came from birmingham, funny little bloke, good laugh! i remember the clubmans number, 243 (i think!!! lol) had the same paint scheme, n his son was called chris. mainly drove birmingham wheels, hensford hills and possibly brafield in northampton a few times
i remember pullin the engine out after we did a trial build before it was painted, and the engine crange legs gave way, ended up smashing through a customers bonnet! luckily they wernt there at the time, and we managed to repair the damage before they got back! lol

A friend who i do car deals with had a great Ford Pop with Jag Axle and V8 In her it was great and still all metal.
When he sold it i missed the Buy and still get mad about it.They used it on the Straight line and on the road.
Another car i missed buying back in the late 80s was a Fair original MK1 RS 2000 Escort Yellow for £250.Needed a bit doing and a new spray job but no rot and original twin towers.
I am shocked how much these older cars have increased in value also. The mate i sold my mint Capri 2.8i to had it valued at 6.5g. He has a few Cars and loads of big bikes. Years ago he had the white twin turbow Capri that was daft fast all them horses on the back wheels. He sticks with his Cosworth these days.

The Mag. was the fast Rare model with the D. front S. and four head Lamps.
Built a few Mk2 Escorts for others and dropped a Pinto 2ltr in for them.

aha! miss type me spotted there that should be 105bhpLove the old Ford's.
Have had a MkIII Capri, MkI & II Escort, MKIII1/2 Cortina.
Nearly bought a 105E Anglia last year but got a mini instead.
Project Mini Chris: 155bhp from a standard 2.0 Pinto is a bit optimistic me thinks. The Essex 3.0 V6 only just made 140bhp out of the box.
Good fun all the same.
Regards
Steve
