Thom Yorke

I'm with you on this one. His voice is unusually calming.

Ludovico Einaudi is another favourite, Top Gear are big users of his stuff.

I'd have to say deceased rapper Big L. It's a shame that a majority of people, even people who listen to hip hop, don't know who he is, because a few days prior to his death he was in the final stages of signing to Jay-Z's record label, which means if he hadn't been murdered, it might have been Jay-Z and Big L, not Jay-Z and Kanye West or Pharell... L had the most entertaining and witty lyrics of any rapper in history. His delivery was impeccable, his style unique, and if he hadn't been taken away before his time, he would have become famous, as his popularity was skyrocketing just as he was killed in February 1999.

I'm quite a big fan of Rob Dougan too. That guy knows how to compose music.

If we're talking about a single person it would have to be Jimmy page at the top and Jimi hendrix following close after, just because the sound they got with fuzz and wah pedals was amazing and they created some of the best riffs of all time.

Led Zeppelin if we're talking about a band.

It has to be between Hendrix, after hearing "Star Spangled Banner"for the first time, while painting a bathroom.
OR
Evan Parker in a Company gig at The Roundhouse.
And if I can choose a favourite piece of music it would have to be the opening bars of"Das Rheingold"through to the closing bars of"Gotterdammerung".
