hi there

i went the other night to buy a 1275 engine, i arrived there and i asked the fella what had been done to the engine, he said its a full race engine, its bored out to 1340, its had new pistons, new rings, race cam e.t.c., i heard the engine goin on his garage floor so knew it was good enough......i brought it home and one of my mini club friends called to see it, he looked at the engine and said thats not bored out the engine i.d plate is still on it........??? Is this true??

p.s this might be in the wrong section..........?? but it will become a project eventually!!! lol

Yeah this section is for more foreign engines.

An engine can be bored out and retain it's engine number. It's when the block is skimmed when the engine number gets removed.

It can be rivited back on. Your going to need to strip it down to know whats inside.
