Hi all i have just got my hands on a perfect condition nikki downdraft twin choke car which my mate is going to fit for me along with my new exhaust and lcb.
I picked it up do £25 with an alloy bmc inlet manifold!
Has anyone got an idea what pancake filter I need as I want to fir it at the weekend hopefully.
Anyone have one and want to bring it to the ace cafe with them tomorrow for me?
Cheers, jack

Yeah that pic is well cool, I'm not sure the one on the website is the same as that though, unless there is a way to bolt it through the top but it doesn't look like it. Would be nice to see a good pi on a website for a change!
I can't wait to get it on, apparently it just fits under the bonnet, lol!

is it on a single inlet or is it bolted to the exhaust manifold aswell? have you got a pic of the inlet, would be nice to see a bit more of this carb, sounds interesting :D

theres like a flange that sits on top of the carb and the filter bolts to that. does on mine, like the one in chris's pic

hey mate, yeah the carb is quite big and sits on a hefty inlet manifold, mine is alloy and is a proper bmc one.
havent got a pic, have a quick look on ebay as there are a couple on there at the moment :)

yeah you never know!
my mate who id fitting it all for me has another downdraft carb, not too shure what it was but its even bigger!!
needed a bit of work though so i couldnt be bothered with it.

im sure you can get the k&n filters with the rubber type neck on so it clamps to the neck of the carb, would this work?

my flange come with the carb. its basicaly a plate which sits over the opening, ill take a pic after work for you. A mpi/spi k&n come with a rubber outlet and a clamp which you tighten up around the opening, but i think they will be too tall. i wonder if you could modify an mpi airbox mounting plate?

from what i read and found out on internet, there good reliable carbs, and there cheap, but they werent really that great on the a-series, didnt give that much of a difference for the cost.

although for £25 it's worth a go i suppose
