
Re-trimming A Leather Steering Wheel?

i was just wondering if anyone knew of anyone who would be able to retrim and re stitch a steering wheel ive recently come into posession of, ive cleaned up what rust was on it now all thats left is some nice new leather and stitching.

i had a word with ashley james interiors at SMD.
they said they can do it but it has to be done by hand and to have it done in leather would be around £200, not really worth it for a mini steering wheel really.
it wouldnt be so bad if it was a bently or something lol

The "art" of steering wheel re-trimming is done by hand so expensive....
If you are sure you want it done (and have a special steering wheel that you consider worth it) then you might want to give Wood and Picket a call, since I recall they had a mini in either Minimagazine or Miniworld where they had one custom covered in Red leather.

well teh problem is more in that the cover thats on there now has either mold or glue or something on that wont come off and the stitch is comming loose, so i figured kill two birds with one stone really, even if i was to take teh cover off to dye it i cant stitch it back.
