Looking for opinons as to whether I should paint the wings and front panel on my carbon fibre flip front.

As it is now...

E-Tizzle's great photoshop of what the painted front could look like. Obviously if painted the weave won't show through the paint, it will be solid red like the rest of the car. You might have to squint to get the idea :D

Seems a shame to cover that weave up although from the picture it doesnt seem to blend too well with the red, i reckon as said paint the wings and leave the bonnet or add more carbon

I'd do as the photo and paint the front end, but leave the bonnet/arches.

If I do decide to paint then the bonnet and arches will definately be left carbon, I might even add carbon bumpers if I do paint.

The main reason to paint is that it looks unfinished(?) and that I'd like to avoid being stopped by VOSA and be made to take the IVA test so the more I can hide the fact that it's a flip front the better

thatll look the nuts with carbon bonnet, arches and bumpers, if thats how you do it, i look forward to seeing it done! The reason their so hot of iva's and crap is because everyone keeps bringing it up, if we all kept quiet it wouldnt be such a big thing, its when their constantly being asked questions!

paint the bottom half of your car black! would look cool as a 2 tone. Failing that.....i think it'd look good painted, but leave the bumper and arches like you said.
nice looking car whatever you decide to do with it

Paint the carbon to match the car or paint the car charcoal to match the carbon

Personally I'm not a fan of exposed carbon.

Thanks

i'd leave it, I thought the whole point of having a c/f exposed weave front end is so that people can see it?

If you paint it in a candy apple red you will see the carbon under the paint or what i think you should do is use the 3m real look carbon fibre wrap and do the rest of the car. You tube 3m real look carbon fibre wrap

They'll still be able to see the bonnet, arches, bootlid and bumpers if I get them!

Others prefer the stealth look of concealed carbon

Sorry but I won't be having any fake carbon (except the mirrors )
