i've been running my car for a while with the vacuum pipe disconnected, this is because the diaphragm was leaking so it wasn't working and when the pipe was plugged in the car would not idle and would stutter a lot. I got a new vacuum unit yesterday and fitted it today and now the car won't start. is it something simple like the timing? or could replacing the vacuum affect something else?
i have tried it with and without the pipe connected and with the pipe disconnected and blocked off at the dizzy end.
thanks in advance >_<

it has the britpart electronic kit by the way, so no points
