I got the HTC desire recently and love it! This is my first smart phone but it's great and I don't even miss keys as much as I thought I would.

The HTC wildfire is very, very similar to the desire, in fact they're more or less the same exact wildfire is a bit smaller and the spec isn't quite as high.

My other half has a blackberry and he absolutely loves it though.

Just got the wife the Sony Ericsson X10 mini pro. Basically a fully functioning smartphone with touch screen and a slide out qwerty keyboard but small enough to fit in the smallest pockets! Very impressed with it myself and if I wasn't an iPhone fan then i'd be tempted.
It's free on virgin too ^_^

just because i already have a pay as you go mobile with virgin and im also on Virgin Broadband. i was going to phone them up and see if they will do a better deal for an existing customer.

Fair enough. they might do you an offer, i remember they did tv, broadband, home phone and mobile package a while ago. If it was me, id choose a more popular network, but if your happy with there service, then thats fine.

if you look into other options, sign up to quidco and go thru there links.

I got £90 cashback thru quidco last year when I took out my 18month contract with vodafone.

In my experience most handsets have a key feature or selling point that makes them the best, but it's usualy at the expenese of another feature (i.e if you want the best camera then you probably wont get the best email and browsing facilities). So it depends on what you want out of a mobile phone and what your priorities are?. If you want decent web browsing and email access then a blackberry is probably a good option. If you want a decent camera then the sony erricson w995 with its 8mp camera is hard to beat. I have a sony erricson as I mainly use it as a camera and mp3 player, (I sometimes even make calls on it too!!) the web browsing is awful though, but id rather have a decent camera and mp3 player and access the internet from my pc at home or at work instead.
