Got a HTC desire and its fantastic. They are smaller than the blackberry but just the right size, and (IMO) competes really well with the iphone. I also looked into the samsung galaxy s but they are too big and Samsung are not best known for quality and after sales support.
The HTC build quality is superb, one of the best built phones ive had for a while, since the indistructable old skool nokias.

I've had a Nokia N95 for years and over time have not found a phone which can beat it for function and form, until now... I've switched to the Nokia X6, does everything I need, enough on board memory (16gb, but believe there's now a 32gb version) to hold enough music to keep me amused, 5mb camera which is plenty good enough for point and shoot, built in GPS which actually works, comes with free Nokia maps (Sat Nav etc ), and has no moving parts, touch screen..
I've had blackberry's and found them to be the most inefficient cumbersome pile of sh*t going and as for the iPhone, all mouth and no trousers...

go to the carphone warehouse and get yaself the samsung galaxy s, much better than a HTC or iphone
[geek fight]HTC desires are running android 2.2 now

I spent ages comparing the HTC and samsung, the samung was just too big and too much plastic for my liking.

Really?Iphone I am a total convert!!
http://www.bit-tech....lbreak-system/1
The countermeasures detailed in the patent application - and it's always worth remembering that this isn't necessarily how such a system would be implemented, if it is indeed ever actually implemented - include taking a series of geotagged photographs with the in-built camera and e-mailing them to Apple in order to identify the miscreant.
I really worry about the interests of a company which is willing to have your phone take pictures without your consent to try and identify the user. Their interests clearly are not in customer privacy.
I've just got a HTC Wildfire and I have to say I love it to bits! I got it free on a £25/month contract for 24 months, but the deal comes with 16 months line rental for free, so I get £400 of the £600 total back.

After using it I really want to get in to writing applications for the Android platform and since the applications are Java based, shouldn't be too hard.

This is by far the best phone I have ever owned or used. You're not locked in to buying your apps and music like you are with an iPhone.
Fast, camera is great, voice tools brilliant. Cannot recommend it enough.
