Hi Everoyne

Our mpi is a non-sportspack car (1998) and we'd like to fit the oil temp and volt meter gauges.

Now I've seen that you can get a mini loom for the two/three (inc clock) gauges but does this fit into a non-sportspack mpi car loom?

Also - does the mpi come with the oil temp sender in the block anyway (and loom plug etc) or do I need to fit it and run some cables through to the cabin etc.

I'm not afraid of the wiring, more that I would use the easy plug and play option if it exists!

Thanks

Will.

Hi,
A friend of mine had an R reg Mpi non cooper. He just bought the wiring harness adapter. What you do is unplug your current wiring to the clock, and put the new harness to that. Wiring is all there. Sender is already in the block. Hardest part is cutting 2no 2" holes in the dash neatly and level with the current clock.

Fab thanks - I forgot to check the connectors etc when I had the dash pulled forward last time so what you've said will save me another dash pulling job.

:D

Apologies to bump an old thread.

I have the Mpi oil and volt meters on the way and will be attempting this mission soon. Anyone know where I buy the harness adapter?

I replaced the one hole dash on my MPi with a three hole complete. It simply plugged into my existing wiring harness.

Might be worth trying to locate a beaten up old dash?

All the wiring should be there as my mini is a 98 rover mini mpi (going on what you've said). I replaced it with a 3 clock dash many years ago. Two aftermarket volt and oil gauges were put in via a friend doing said job for me at the time and he never wired them up.... Finally got round to buying the period correct mpi oil and volt gauges to match rest.

I'll see when I drop the dash and have a look. Interesting.
