Due to having no money, I can't get a start on the panel work..

I've got a long weekend coming up, so I want to attempt to get the gear linkage working..? I'm told it needs cutting and modifiying a bit to fit..

What do I have to do?

Not sure which gearbox I have or if it makes a difference but I believe the engine is out of a metro, its a 1400cc spi..
