Wiring Problems ?

really frustrated. i cant get my mini to turn over. ive recently bought a new shell for my car andive out everything in but i am stuck with the electrics. im not great with electrics ive never done it before. how do you get the engine to turn over and what colour wires do i need to connect to what and what they look like thank you. Your post is a bit general so would take alot of typing to list all the wiring connections.

If you have a haynes manual covering the right year for your car, it will have all the wiring info you will need.

Sorry its not much help but if you just need a small area of electrics it may be able to be answered better.

As Darkscamp says a bit more info would be handy but there are a couple of general things to check - if you have the solenoid which mounts on the inner wing it does have to be mounted with a good earth to work (it's not uncommon for problems like this to be because you're trying to start it before finishing the installation!) In all cases the start wire from the switch is white with a red tracer so find that, make sure it has a good connection to either the solenoid or relay and that it's getting 12v when the switch is turned. If it's a pre-engaged starter (with piggy-back solenoid) check the relay is operating correctly,
