the thermostat should be between the housing and the spacer block, not between the head and the spacer block. therefore the hot water can flow freely whether the thermostat is open or not.

I am right in thinking you have a sandwich plate between the housing and the head.

They do have the sandwich plate on the thermostat housing, I wasn't sure on the flow so didn't do what AVV IT mentioned, just looked at a Spi I had on hand to see how they did it, but they don't have a bypass do they hence the take off from the bottom hose?

Starting to make sense now...

i'll try to have a nosey at one tonight at ace cafe. my heads getting all confused now :lol:

As far as my head can work out at the minute;

standard bottom hose -> pipe reducer -> hose to heater -> hose from heater to inline heater tap -> hose from heater tap to sandwich plate.

i need to double check but i'm sure i've seen it done before.

I had this issue. I cut off the old hose without even thinking to check if there were spares available. I ended up just putting the part code into google and working through pages of results until I found one. Scary though!

I could do with one of these if there's any sort of group buy happening!

I'd been thinking of replacing all my hoses as I don't know how old they are (probably
original '93 Rio).

AVV IT, you maybe in luck! Thinking about what I have left of my race spares, I am pretty sure I have one of these hoses GRH 1289, I will over this coming weekend have a look through my collection of spares.

Fantastic!! If you find one, let me know how much I owe you + postage...... Cheers!!!

Disappointing news, the hose I found was not the GRH 1289, sorry.

Not sure how much one would cost but these people do bespoke stuff.

They're actually 5 mins up the road from me as well. If I can help, just ask.
