hey, didnt manage to completely time it in, im still 1 degree out, but ive got a pic of it set up with the timing disc, pointer, etc on whilst i was finding the dwell angle, to find true tdc, basically using the dial gauge, i turnt the crank until the piston was at the highest point on the dial gauge, put the timing disc so the pointer pointed to tdc, then kept turning the crank slowly, until the dial gauge started to drop, then looked at where the pointer was on the disc, and marked it. it got to 13 degrees after tdc before the piston started to go back down, this means the dwell angle/period is 13 degrees. so to find true tdc i divided the 13degree dwell by 2, this gave me 6.5 degree, which means to be at true tdc i needed to go back, to 6.5 degree on the timing disc, which i did, then turnt the disc (not the crank) so the pointer was pointing to TDC on the disc, as seen in the pics. i hope you can understand it, as i said, im not very good at explaining things.

i made my pointer out of a bit of ally, then bolted it on using the hole in the front plate that the alternator adjuster bolt goes throug, its a "universal" pointer for two other types of engine i work with at work.

i also check again after setting it up, find true tdc again, etc, just incase the disc or pointer has moved.
