My mini has just started making a clunk noise when i put my foot on and off the throttle, i can't shake it by hand so is it likely to be the engine mounting?
thanks

could be but I'd be more inclined to believe it to be the top engine steady....

the bushes in the top steady do look worn, i hope its not the engine mount as i know for a fact it won't be the one on the rad side!

have you checked that the bracket the top engine steady is bolted to is still attached to the bulkhead ?

Just checked it and the bolt undoes ok so i know thats not sheared, it all feels solid by hand but I've ordered some new poly bushes for it then thats one more thing done.

wheel nuts are all torqued up, so they are good

Sorry to jump in but I am in the market for a Mini and I have found one I like and it has the same kind of problem. Very jerky when putting the power down or off and my mechanics mind has told me it's the engine mounts.
I haven't had a look at the above but just to confirm, it could be any of the following:
Engine mounts (can someone confirm how many there are (it's a 92 1275 injection))
Engine steady (is the bracket that attaches it to the bulk head bolted on or welded on)
Wheel nuts
Thanks guys and sorry for jumping in but thought it may help both of us.
