Was hoping someone could help with diagnosing my problems, when i'm either sitting with the clutch depressed before pulling away or when parking and not engaging the clutch fully before coming out of gear, the clutch engages and i can't get out of gear without using both hands to pull it out with force.
when the clutch engages while the pedal is depressed, i.e. when i'm at traffic lights, the engine doesn't die, just slips enough to pull the revs down a little without stalling (have had to increase idle speed a little to stop stalling). pumping the pedal a couple of times helps, in one case it moved my bite point way up which threw me a little.
i also have a bit of a hunting idle that i guess could be caused by minor engagements of the clutch??
no leaks from master or slave that i can detect.
car is a 1979 850, so i believe its non verto. might be wrong on that.
any ideas? can it be just a dodgy oil seal causing this or am i looking at a few problems together?

oh, and there are no problems with slipping while i'm out of first and driving, and it is also difficult/crunchy to get into first and reverse.

I'm no expert here, but sounds more like gearbox problems. You tried adjusting your clutch at all?

no but i'll have a look at adjusting the clutch tomorrow, any idea what i might be looking at with the gearbox if that doesn't help?

Welp.
Mini gearboxes syschros go over time which would explain the crunch. A little is alright, hell my car crunches into reverse most of the time (most due to lack of synchro on reverse).
Best guy to ask would be GuessWorks, he's the gearbox man of the forum.

Turns out the throwout has no locking nut, I've only had the car a few months so haven't noticed it was missing, it has gradually been getting worse, as the nut worked loose I imagine. Bite point much higher now and no crunching while gear changing. Ideal! It'll work loose a little before the lock nut arrives from minispares but I know what the problem is now.
Thanks for the help.
