Hi everyone i'm after some advice as to whether or not £250 sounds reasonable for repairing some cracked filler in my near side rear quarter panel. The body shop will be repairing and painting the whole of the damaged panel. If this is a bit steep are there any recommended body shops near Kings Lynn, Norfolk?
Can possibly get a better picture if required but the majority of the damage is visible.

Many thanks, Evan.

Looks like reasonably thick filler. If they are going to do a decent job, then £250 is not unreasonable.

£50 worth of paint and materials at least with some labour sounds cheap to me

Thanks for the help everyone, the old filler will be removed and new applied to bring the panels shape back and to the correct height. The bodyshop person said that he would do it properly and i wanted the same finish and exactly the same colour and he said he could do it.
So the price proposed is good then? I have been quoted by the same person £800 for a complete outside respray.

Evan.

I run a small 2 man business from home with very few of the overheads that you'd find a small garage having.

Work out the rent, rates, insurance, electric, tax, nic, vat, plus accountants fees, and quite frankly I don't think £40 a hour is unreasonable, if the quality is up to scratch. He's charging you for 4 hours plus some paint.

800 for a full respray!

Where can i find this place? :)

As i have some scratches on the roof which needs attention + a few rust spots which needs sorting.

Respray:

Remove all glass, doors, boot, bonnet, all exterior trim, strip doors of all components, remove all rubber trim, remove and treat any rust, DA down the whole car, scotchbrite where the DA cannot access, prime whole car, flat, paint, nib new paint by hand with 2000 Wet and Dry and polish up with a mop using G3, refit complete car. Thats about 60 hours at say £40 per hour

Lash Over:

DA car down, mask up where necessary, scurf off rust, prime where necessary, paint, with plenty of thinners in the last coat to get a "nice" shine - 15 hours

doesnt sound too bad, but if he is just going to re-filler it, you would at least expect him to knock the dent out before fillering, to use as little filler as possible!

£800 for a full outter respray seems a little expensive to me lol i can get a FULL respray inside and out for £450, and the quailty is really good! (gonna get my clubby 'state done there, and ill post some pics up of the finsh etc but gotta finish my welding etc 1st)

Damn £450 for a full inside and out re-spray, please let us know where this is as thats just rediculously cheap.

The only way i can see them doing it that cheap if you was to completley prep the shell and give it to them completely stripped and in primer.

then i cant see anyone doing for 450quid, if using quailty paint and then polishing it. the time it takes to paint a car properly takes as long as it does, and costs 1400ish as a rule for an ourside respray using ici paint
