I have a 1.4 honda civic with the D14 engine, i was wondering if anyone has put one in a mini yet?

would love to give it a try if it fits

AFAIK it's the same block, etc as the D-series VTEC's (D15, etc) so should fit on a D-Series subframe. Seems like a lot of effort to fit a 90bhp engine in a Mini though - I have a 1.4 Civic with that engine in and it isn't all that quick to be honest!

90bhp would be quite nice and easy to drive and with it only pulling the weight of a mini it should be faster too, i did go out in my mates 1.6 vtec civic and the sound it awesome, just that makes me want the 1.6 rather than the 1.4 now.

For a road car you dont need any more than about 120-130hp in a mini, easy enough to drive

Have a look for the SOHC vtec, fits much nicer in a roundnose, one of the D series range, as above I think???
