Hi all i have been moding my mini up with difrent lights LEDS UV glowing dash with flashing flames Plasma light plate Lightnig balls on the back shelf yada yada yada lol.

I want to enter it in the glow show at next years southern mini days If I can get it all done in time etc.

BUT this is were I have got stuck...

I want to put blue leds in the top section of the back lights red in the second section and green in the bottom section. Fitting the LEDS in isnt the problem but I cant seem to find anything anywere to make them flash in sequence. I need some sort of light to sound of 3 way seqencer to make them flash though the 3 colours.

I have seen other mini's with this kinda thing done but I dont know were to start. iv'e serched the net for somthing but cant find anything of use.

So if there is anyone here who can tell me how to do it or were to find somthing I can use PPPPLLLEEEAAASSSEEEEEE help me.

The Vehicle Lighting Regulations Act 1989 states that it is illegal for any light to be fitted to a car which is capable of emiting a blue light be it static or flashing unless fitted to an emergency vehicle.

Obviously it's your choice, but as this is a public forum, don't say you weren't warned

Yes i know your not allowed blue lights on a car BUT these will be for show perposes only and wont be on when driving. They will be on there own switches and only used once a year for shows etc.

Hi thanks for the links but they wont help me. ( I have 3 sets of bulbs blue red and green and want to make them flash in sequence blue then red then green in that pattern. I dont want them to flash between colours to quickly either. I was told that you could build a circuit for it? but im not electricaly minided so thats why im trying to find a pr built 3 way unit.

The problem with that is its only for two lights. I need one for 3 lights. as I will be wireing 3 separate lights int the 3 sections and only want one section to light at one time then the next then the last then back to the first and so on.

But as I said I will be using 12 volt LEDS that I have already got for it. but need somthing to run them.

No worrys if you see anything for a 3 way one please let me know. ive been looking for the past couple of weeks with no luck or idears. Wished id asked the guys at the mini show how they did it now. Doh!

If I understand you correctly its just a ordinary "running light"-circuit your looking for. Ther's plenty of designs on the net. Not sure about just having only 3 leds but it should'nt be too hard to modify.

I want to put about 3/4 led's of each colour in each ection to run on the controller. The one in the link uboth looks like the sort of thing I would want but I wouldnt know were to start with wiring it in to a car? it all seems to be more computer based? Im hoplis with these things.

sounds very easy install to me, besides the "practical" part with drilling etc...or did you want to replace the standard bulb??
If thats the case then its a bit more difficult with the wiring...hum

No all the standard Back lights, reverse lights indicaters etc will all stay the same and work as they already do. The coloured LEDs Will be added to the inside of the casing in each section and then wired to a light controller chanel chasing device etc and fitted to a separate switch so the LEDs will only work when switched on at shows.

Its just finding the right 3 way chanel controler device to run then in sequence blue then red then green etc.
