as the title says really, just wondered if anybody had managed to fit a complete mini in the back of a mk4 FORD transit van?

Depends what size, if it's a LWB High Top then maybe, but even then, it might be to narrow. Luton van might be big enough though.

I believe the answer is no due to the inner wheel arch of the transit; obstructs the load bay too much.

ok so if i was to get hold of a transit my best option would be to take the subbies off, take some matresses and lift the shell onto its side in the van? could this be doable? and samsernie, No need to get my new project back home from brighton

It will fit on a transit flatbed....................this I know because I had a spitfire on one and it fitted no probs.

And before anyone says is I mean the triumph version not the supermarine one ;-)

sorry, i just associate tranny vans with pikeys, due to where i live, lol, why not borrow or hire a trailor? surely that would be the safest option, i should imagine it will be hard to get the mini in there without damaging it.

I wouldn't think so. Imagine a Mini parked next to the Transit; I'm sure it'd stretch into the cab. Even a Mini isn't that mini!

Shiply was what I used to get my project home. Might be worth a look on there if you don't have an alternative.

Edit: bit late with this response!

seen this on another topic

it may be an Iveco or a sprinter but they got it in, looks like the ramps take it over the inner arches
