I'm going from Northampton to Anglesey in a couple of months and, despite the noise, I have no worries about sitting on the motorway the whole time.
Did L2B this year and came back up the M1, again, perfectly fine.

The only problem is... motorway driving is SO boring!

So come off up the M54, up the A5, through snowdonia or perhaps turn off at LLangollen and over the horseshoe pass stopping at Pendarosa Cafe for tea ?

Or alternatively up the M54 off at the A41, head towards whitchurch quite a fast road, and at whitchurch head for wrexham, chester and then the A55. Probabally as quick as the M6, M56 on a Friday.

I used my standard 998cc every day from Solihull to Henley-in -Arden daily to work about 26 miles round trip and found the Stratford road the best route for me and the Mini.It would always make up on the bends a very nice drive even in the snow.

Love how people are admitting to speeding on a public forum

I tend to cruise along at about 65 on a motorway in my 998, makes me feel less guilty! Minis always seem quite loud though as they dont have a 5th gear, so always sound like they're revving loads.

Driving a mini down the motorway makes motorway driving more fun though!

it doesn't matter anyway you cant get done for it as there is no video proof to go with it how could it possibly be proved i was speeding?

mine will cruise at 70, could do with ear defenders really as with the music turned up and a straight though rc40 blaring away you sometimes get a headache

but you get used to it

Good point about the wipers and slowing down.
With the engine sound add more sound proof.Much comes through the Speedo hole.
We are on a 998cc car so you do not want to wear it out.My old 1974 i kept standard and had so much fun in it.Flat out prob. about 87 mph but things would wear out fast.It liked 70.
With some i used MG 1293 ish Metro Engines with all the extras like discs and wheels etc..They went great.
