Mini Magazine reports that Monty Watkins has quit as Editor of MiniWorld, as IPC prepare to sell it to another publisher.

that is interesting. I hope they can find a good buyer for the magazine and they produce a good quality "only classic" one...

If its sold to Kelsey publications then Mini world should be ok. All their motoring mags do not cross over so there would be room for it to sit along Modern MINI and not cross over in to one, for this would be ashame if it did.
Best thing now is to wait and see what happens before coming to conclusions.

If its sold to Kelsey publications then Mini world should be ok. All their motoring mags do not cross over so there would be room for it to sit along Modern MINI and not cross over in to one, for this would be ashame if it did.

I could see Kelsey producing a new mag called Mini United to save on production costs and appeal to a wider audiance.

ive got bored of mini world recently, there seems to be loads about 13 wheels bodykits and engine swaps which isnt really not what i like to ive moved to practical classics. but thats ashame they do a good job, hope it dosnt finnish

Mini mag is just put together better IMO, better articles and features.

oh well i cant get my head round Mini world :S its just not nice to ready personal

Mini Mag is more easy and is more of a mag to be honest :] but thats my op on it to be honest

I've been told that Mr Watkins decission of leaving the mag had been taken way before any news of a sell off and due to personal reasons. MiniWorld will continue as well as all the people working for it...

I usually get miniworld over mini magazine. I like both and mini magazine is slightly better but the feature cars in miniworld are more like what i'm into.

interesting, be good to see if anything changes. i prefer miniworld but wish they would give it a tough spine like mini mag, it always tears!

i buy both, but only categorize the mini mag as it actually stays in one piece after a month!

still, someone needs to save miniworld before its too late
