both magazines charge way to much for advertising, I stopped 11 years ago, and went from 2 page spreads to nothing, and I increased in sales!! I have put a couple of trester adds in a while ago and monitored the enquiries - not a single new customer!!

internet rules on advertising, magazines are good for enthusiasts to read about restorations and get their projects in, but speaking from a worldwide manufacturer/wholesaler/retailer they are simply not worth advertising in.

When i was a teen about 14yr ago now lol i used to get both before i even had a mini, seemed to be then more technical articles and stuff in them. Thats what I would like to see more of in both more how to's and stuff as well.

Now I got a mini this year in March and have bought both each month but a bit confused as some issues on one were called summer etc so not sure if they were in addition to usual monthly one or not.
I probably will just buy one in future with what ever has most useful stuff in really.

The power of the internet means magazines are no longer quite so exciting as we get news on here to easy now.
This goes for motorbike and rc car mags as well.

I'm sue I heard some where Mini World readrship has dropped dramatically not sure where. Mini World is what got me into Minis all thoose years ago but I confess when my subsription ran out I didn't bother renewing it as I felt it had go down hill over the years. I still have Mini Mag and it is good to see that although they don't do features on the new MINI they do put items in their news section. As a few have alreay said MM seams an altogether better publication with better features etc

I would certianlly like to see a magazine that caters for both classic and New MINI's

Could'nt think of anything worse than a magazine that catered for both, dont really want any news about the BINI. Am never impressed when a picture of a BMW half series sneaks in.

if it does start to cater for both, then it will die. very few people are interested in both and both the mini and bini scenes have other dedicated magazines to turn to, the market for people who want both simply isnt big enough.

lets face it, the magazine industry is in a constant decline now that we have various gizmos like i-pads and wotnot

but as long as were buying them then there will still be magazines for a good while yet

and i totally agree with tomgale, at the moment the new mini and old is still as divided as north and south china so i dont see a merger magazine for a good while yet

as above i dont think combining the two different Mini brands is the way forward dispite the fact it may save money.
besides, whats there to read about the new Mini, a new trim colour?

i used to read mini world as i could buy it from the supermarket, it was the only Mini based magazine i ever saw so i assumed it was the only one available, however once i saw mini mag i brought that and havent bought another mini world since.
it seems better put together.

if magazine sales are falling, i take it mini mag is suffering the same problems aswell?
how can they counteract this?? other than make them available for download on new smart phones?

technology is what will get them, we can get most mini news here, a shedload of technical advice and more projects than you could count for free! i do like having something you can actually read though, and the tech articles are very usefull
