Spoke to AVO today, very friendly people...

They quoted £7 + vat each for the adjusters.

I also asked for a price for new shocks, £60 + vat each and £25 + vat each for the springs. Looks like I got some savin to do!!

rich can you post a pic of the coilover for me, so i can see how it attaches to the car please? also one of the grub screw position?

They attach exactly the same as standard shocks.

Here you go Cowboy, like Siggy said, they attach the same way as a normal shock. The grooved ring at the bottom is the height adjuster and the buttom is the stiffness adjuster.

I took the shocks to my mate last night so he could drill the grub screws out, he got one out, but the other wouldnt cut, its made of some seriously hard stuff and just kept snapping the drill bits. We tried going in from the side too, but this didnt work either - it loks site some idiot has glued the ring in possition, even with a 3" wrench we couldnt get it to budge. I'm gonna have to cut it off and get a new ring from AVO.

I like the guys at AVO, the rings were cheaper this time when I rang them up, so I orderred two...

cheers for the photo rich, i see now how they attach normally, i was looking in the mags and though they had pictures, it seems they were only showing pictures of front ones. obviously the cones are removed when these are fitted.....

how are you planning on getting the old ring off, when your new rings arrive? have you thought about that yet?

the grub screw sounds like a right pain!

i've just been looking at the pic mate, and if you cant drill out the grub screw, then remove the spring, which needs to come off anyway to put your new ring on. And then carefully grind the ring starting at the groves (for tightening) and grind away as much of the ring towards the grub screw as you can, from one side of the grub screw then the other side doing the same, then remove the metal from the side, taking of enough metal to get some mole grip pliers onto the grub screw.

i would avoid grinding straight down onto the ring incase you damage the threads for the ring mate, you probable knew that anyway :wales:

The grub screw isnt actually doin anything, it hasnt been screwed down to the shock, jus glued in place!! I got a mate with a special sideways cutter at work whos gonna cut it off for me, doin two cuts, one either side then take it of as two halves.

iv manages to snap off the bottom of the 2 subframe bolts where it goes i not the body, got any dieas of getitng out or how to retap threads?
