So should I just get the standard blue coolant and mix it with some water then do you think?

I've been told to get green coolant but I can't really find it anywhere. I can only find it on ebay...

The Blucol websites states: -
"Bluecol 2 Year Antifreeze & Summer Coolant is a methanol-free, ethylene glycol based antifreeze and engine coolant.
Keep Bluecol in your radiator system throughout the year to maintain maximum protection against winter freezing to -36°C and summer overheating, whilst at the same time protecting the materials in the cooling system against rust and corrosion. Bluecol 2 Year is suitable for all engine types, including aluminium. It does not evaporate in use and is not flammable.

* Does not incorporate Organic Acid Technology (OAT). Suitable for classic cars.

EXCEEDS THE REQUIREMENTS OF BS6580:1992

The main thing is it says Blucol 2 is suitable for classic cars, whereas it doesn't for the other Blucol types of anti freeze. Sounds like the ideal product to me. Use it all year round then the corrosion inhibitor will protect the new radiator (very nice it looks too, did you say it was only £55 ??!!)

I use a product called RMI-25, that is made by a company called Engine Dialysis Flush. It comes in a small bottle as concentrate. It is bright flourescent green and is specifically made for older engines. Google it if you want to find out more. I run this all year round (in New Zealand, so -5C to 25C) in my standard 998 and it does a fantastic job. It is made to keep the system clean, and prevent corrosion as well as lubricate the water pump and associated bits. It's fairly easy to get a hold of too, well here anyway. It is good for all alloys and the old cast iron. If you have a reasonably grubby system you will find that a few flakes and rusty grunge will appear around the cap after a weel or so and you just overflow this and keep goin'.

On the subject of the alloy rads from China... Most of them are OK, although I use a 2 core brass rad that I got for $180NZD and it has 15% more cooling capacity than the factory 3 core.

Hope this helps! :S

That sounds like the kind of green stuff i've had recommended to me by others.

I tryed to find some but it doesn't look likes its easy to get hold of. Ebay has no results and google uk has none either. On their US website it says its only available in the US.

I bought some standard halfords concentrated coolant in the end. Going to just use that and deionised water (the waters really cheap so thought i'd get it anyway)

At least with this rad its go a drain plug/switch hole so I can easily drain the coolant out if needs be. But i'm sure it'll be fine.

I run the standard halfords stuff and it's fine - as has already been said dont use the advanced halfords stuff as it eats iron!

Yeah sorry Mike, I'm a little unsure of what is available elsewhere in the world. I didn't help much did I? :P If you were getting desperate I know I can get it locally here so I send some over to you, the bottle is not even 250mL I don't think, and it's great stuff. Just seems going a bit far for some simple anti-freeze... However if I can help, I'm here.
