So, today was meant to be a day of progress and I've got virtually nothing done.

 

I was trying to fit the A-Series spares electric window kit, and I've either lost bits, or there's bits missing in the kit..............

 

But, I did fit a mirror

Boys, Boys, Boys,  Carlos and Ben, its been a while since I was on here . I'm so glad to see the recent progress on the project. Amazing work as always by Ben.  Carlos you are going to have an awesome mini once finished.

Another somewhat frustrating day.

 

I spent ages this morning trying to fit the central locking kit.

 

The hole in the back plate is meant to line up with the hole in the door, but the allen head is in the way.

 

You can see here where they've obviously cut the plastic down to make it fit, they just haven't cut it enough.

 

And I'm missing loads of nuts, bolts, screws and washers in order to rebuild the door fully which was my plan.

I didn’t get much done today that’s worthy of a photo.

Boot lid seal fitted which now means the boot doesn’t fit properly but a bit of wd40 has improved that. Door window rubbers fitted. And grille fitted so it doesn’t get damaged.



Hopefully my little order from minispares will arrive tomorrow

I thought I’d do a little experiment to decide whether to go chrome or body coloured......

The colour match isn’t great as it’s out of a rattle can but I think I’ll go body coloured

I may scrap that idea. I can’t find the other one so may buy chrome

paint may not last long on a high wear area such as a door handle - and the chrome will set the colour off well in my opinion.

I’m plodding along, glass is in, and seals are learning.

I’ve sorted out my issues with the central locking and electric windows and today I’ve fitted the rear shocks.
