Also when drilling out old rivet in some cases the back of rivet left may fall in to an area where I cant retrieve said back of rivet, so will it mean i have some bits rattling around then or am I talking rubbish?

You can get black ones, if you're that worried, I think most are alloy not SS aren't they?
And no... drilling them out, they will most likely fall on your feet or near, they're only in the wings/quarters which you can touch the inside of quite easily from the arch.
I've only replaced one of my arches, when I luckly caught it as it flapped up to the drivers window whilst driving...

Not sure about the size, but they don't need to be silly long... just not too short, or you might crack your plastic or not get enough grip.

Mini spares sells original ones that are black plastic type.
From CBS can get alloy, plastic or stainless steel.
I see I was sure some I couldnt feel the other side of the rivet.
Ahh that was lucky lol, mine are not falling off but in some places the arch is craked around the rivet, and they are well faded so plan to get new and paint them this time around.

Personally, I'd go with the W&P or W&P style ones, then paint them black, the fixings are hidden under the arch so who cares how you fix them.

Well if you're doing that... then...

I like size of standard arches and dont want any that are much wider most seem to be to wide. How are they fixed then?

The majority of the rear arch rivets will have the back side in the car apart from possibly the very front one amd the rear one (which goes into the valance closing section).
Most pop rivets are alloy so won't rust. No need for stainless ones, they'll just be harder to fit as they won't 'pop' as easily and need more force on the rivet tool.

W&P arches fasten upwards from underneath, into the flange of the wing rather than the main vertical part of the panel.

I get ya so still need to screw, rivet them in place etc? and I imagine these arches will cover holes left by stock black ones but I should fill them holes in etc?
Thats what i though there will be some bits loose from back of rivets for sure in some places.
Im not sure what to do now lol so many choices to do with it.
