just found this section!

wiring is a nightmare - I've got some bits and pieces of useful stuff (like lists of what's what) found when I did my midget - if that's any good. at least I didn't have to build a subframe!

That would be great, Ive not yet tackled the wiring.

im torn between running bike carbs, or buying a different pedal box to throw the brake master cylinder away from the injection manifold.

ill have a proper play around when i have a look at it next.

Little bit of an update,

this went to the tip,

Posted Image

and last night got it back on 4 wheels for the first time since september.

Posted Image

Did make a little start on the wiring before Christmas, but it started to give me a headache so i gave up and didnt touch it for two months.

I went to France to see the parents over Christmas, and i suddenly felt the urge to crack on with it, but i couldnt...

so i had a major tidy up, and ripped the fuel tank out ready to get a friend to modify it for the injection fuel pump.

Today i finished the repair to the scuttle end, it is all fillered and ready for paint,

got the exhaust all lined up, ive got a centre exit, but im going to weld a small bend into the link pipe and have it shooting off upwards on the nearside, looks pretty cool if you ask me.
Posted Image
Also do you guys think its worth while welding the expansion section/silelcer thingey into my new exhaust?pictured below.
Posted Image

And for years ive been meaning to sort out my seat mounts so they sit as low as possible, aswell as far back as possible for my gangley legs, so a bit of choppie choppie, weldie weldie, etc.
Posted Image
Posted Image
bolted in they sit much nicer, and ive still got the lever for the slider, so even short people can still drive it.

and a bit of painting here and there.

i plugged in the wiring and found that the only light i get with the ignition on is the low oil preassure light, so i think i need to sit down and spend a few hours going through the loom with the RAVE cd.

Good progress mate. The wiring is a nightmare im just about finished sifting through mine for the second time and its still not as tidy as i want. I presume your on 16v mini forum too. Iv got a 1.8vvc in mine if you need a hand all though i hate wires you can send me a pm.

Having the low oil pressure light come on with the ignition is good though thats what its suppose to do, when i first connected mine up to the battery with no keys in ignition mean beam warning light was on.. i had issues!

Yeah I have an account on 16v. A 143 or 160 vvc is the long term plan for mine too.
If there are tips for the wiring feel free to pm them my way, because to honest I'm not entirely sure where to start, i went wire cutter happy and cut loads out without always relating back to the rave manual. And since then I have been avoiding it.

Good work, Reasonably handy with wires myself but the wiring on my VVC conversion did try me occasionally. Top tip - i found it a heck of a lot easier to print off all the relevant diagrams off the rave and pinned them all to the wall in a line.
More than happy to lend a hand if you get stuck.
