would i just put a inline fuse then a wire straight to that fuseBest to wire it to fuse 3 (25 amp) in the fuse with box with an inline fuse (around 15A). So the inline blows out before the main fuse, taking everything else with it.

Yes, basically you draw a new wire from fuse 3 and connect it to the in-line fuse. and connect the other end of the in-line fuse to the cig lighter. Make sure the in-line fuse is accessible so you can replace the fuse if needed.
Forgot to mention, make sure the wire is the correct gauge for 15A.

You need to make sure the wire is stronger than the fuse so that the fuse breaks and not the wire.how will i know if it is the right gauge ?would i just put a inline fuse then a wire straight to that fuseBest to wire it to fuse 3 (25 amp) in the fuse with box with an inline fuse (around 15A). I was going to ask this question today as well, are there wires that all ready come out of the 'fuse 3' that you mention? Do they run up the steering column?
I was gonna get my dad to do this job as I am completely inexperienced, but we were thinking of putting on a snapper connection onto one of the wires that are are exposed on the column then use an in-line fuse for protection.
Do you know where I can get a wiring diagram on-line for my model?
