Ok...track back a second
What voice coil config is your W0? Is it single 4 ohm?
IIRC they are reasonably low power handling...so a single decent 4ch amp with 2ch bridged for the sub should be fine (assuming it is SVC 4ohm)

It is a single voicd coil 4ohm. So a single 4 channel bridgable amp should do the trick? what wattage should the amp be? any suggestions?

how will these go with the sub - Alpine Components or JL AUDIO XR650-CSI 6.5" (160mm) 2-Way Component Set

yep they will be fine and a 4 channel amp is the way to go for ease of installation
then bridge two channels for the sub and use the other two for the front components

The subs are 125watts rms if they are the 4ohm single coil.
I'd fit the JL components too.
This would run both subs no problem (wired for 2ohm)
JBL GTO301.1
This would run the components
JBL GTO75.2
or if you've got a bit more cash
run the subs off this (2ohm config again)
Alpine MRP-M350
and the comps off this
Alpine MRV-T320

How about a pair of Vibe VP2's or a Vp2 and a VP4 (remembering that I'll only be running one of my subs). I can get some of these ex show room at reasonable prices...

i wouldn't buy speakers that are exdisplay to be honest, and i wouldn't buy vibe either. How much are they?

Not buying ex display speakers, just interested in the amplifiers. The VP4 is about £60 and the VP2 about £30.
Why would you not buy Vibe?

sorry i assumed you were on about speakers, just had a look on the net and apparently a lot of people had relaibility issues with the VP4.
I don't really like vibe, i there are a lot of better brands out there for similar money.

Okay, I won't bother with them then. Last thing I want is to blow my budget on gear thats going to pack up.
So JBL or Alpine then? are there any other well known brands to not get?
And as an aside, how easy is it to fix an amplifier? Are there many parts that can go wrong and not easily be fixed?

to be honest an amp probably isn't that hard to fix, but by the time you've got the parts and got someone to do the job (if you can't do it yourself) then its not gonna be worth it unless it quite an expensive amp. I think the probelm with the Vibe one is that its a design fault which can be hard to rectify.
Kenwood, pioneer, jbl, alpine all make good afordable amps, JBL tend to give you the best value for money hence the reason i usually recommend them.

Yes I can see why. However I'm picky and I'm not too keen on the look of the JBLs
just fussy I guess - Thats why I was looking at the Vibes, they're nice looking. I'll go look at some Alpines again I think, they would look nice in the boot
