I have done 8 yrs and will get basic redundancy pay so looking at under 4k.
Just hoping it dont happen really as if it does be we really in the you know what, as getting married next year can see it might mean need to sell mini as well
I work in building design as a structural technician, mainly drawing building structure in autcad and revit and doing reinforced concrete detailing. A few year ago I would be getting calls every so often head hunting how times can change just like that!!
Now should i put my play mini back box i got off ebay on mini or just sulk lol!

When you have a new job lined up find out about tools/equipment etc that can also be subsidised by the Government for the new job.
You might not be entitled to any of this but its well worth asking as they are not too forthcoming in volunteering the info without you asking.
I wish Id known about it when I was redundant.
Paul
Also if you have a union they can fight for more than just Government minimum. My union got me about 500% more dosharoony than was originally offered after 18 years of employment

i worked for a firm for only 3 months before being told that i might have to go. they were struggling to get monies owed to them, firms going bankrupt etc. after talking with my better half we decided that i had to find something else. people might think f**k that but i now do two cleaning jobs. one in the morning 6-9 and one in the afternoon 3.30-5.30. with child/tax credits i get about the same money i did before. at the beginning it was a bit of a struggle but now things are sorted. the upside is i get free time during the week to finish my mini project. the downside i have to save for things i need rather than just put it on the plastic.

Fair play to you, i have alot of respect for people who will work at any job rather than sit on there backside moaning about things.

Agree with that, loads of people are far too lazy to put in the effort.

Just spend as little money & apply for as many jobs as you can. You haven't got anything to lose by applying.
Good luck.
