we are not driving the car you are! but you have a cooper round nose so get a round nose. what are you wanting a flippy front has the car got lots of rust on the front as this is the only good reason for chopping a front end off.

Also cue bugle with his links about IVA tests, but that is your decision to make after you have read and heard both sides it that particular debate lots of info on this, so try searching

Personally I dont like seeing post 81/82 cars with cluman fronts unless you need one to fit a big engine in.

Bungle must be playing with zippy and George at the moment or his flipfront filter is broken !!! LOL

I'd go round nose, keep it original, but as said above why are you getting rid of the front is it rusted beyond repair.

Its a track day project.

So weight is the aim of the game here, or in fact the loss of it.

A clubman gives you that little extra room at the front. That`s its benefit, however club man bonnets tend to lift a little at speed just due to design. Mostly the fiberglass ones due to their flexibility.

if your going 7,8, kad or a bimmer head. id go club man. Although you can get it all under a round nose. You can get some massive trumpets into a clubman. Same applies for an engine conversion.

As bungle says, if this is the case and you don`t really need the room its personal taste.

The only reason my next project will need a club man front is i don`t want trumpets hanging a good 50/60mm outside of my bonnet giving the game away.

Thanks for the comments.

I bought my Cooper with the front chooped off already, so im presuming it was too rusty beyond repair, also the previous owner wanted to put a vtec in it so i can see why he did it.

I'm drawn Towards The round-nose look, so i think i will go for that option! I would keep it a 1275 engine but just upgrade it with a few bits. So i would be doing it to save weight and not space.

Thanks for the info All. Much Appreciated!
