How wet are the plugs? If you are using the 1275 carb it may be too rich, but I'd have thought it should still splutter into some sort of life... Sure the timing isnt exactly 180 degrees out?

thought it might be 180 out so tried that to, still nothing,
plugs arnt soaked, have weakened the carb by half a turn to compensate for the smaller bore
really frustraighting

The worst thing about engines is when they won't start!
What plugs are you using? With some plugs I know people who have flooded them and no matter how they are dried out they will not work properly. Try taking them out and putting in the oven to warm them up a bit then pop them back in hot and see if it helps, (not too hot!)

Woooooo hooooo finally it lives.......
Finally managed to get it to run, quick set up and it sounds and drives great,
Mahooosive Headache over,
For nearly a week now I've been fiddling trying to get it running, checked everything countless times,
Dad came round this afternoon, took him less than 20 mins and it was running,
Cheers Dad (cocky git
),
Turns out it seems really happy running very advanced ??
Was beginning to think that I'd done something very wrong when putting it all together,
Thanks for the comments guys and just in time to head down to stoneleigh in the morning.
