Fail or no fail..............surely basic 'common sense' would mean you cover/remove any exposed sharp edges like a Mini bumper mounting flange whether at front or back. :(

Even the later Mini bumpers had the sharp edge at each end rounded off to meet European safety laws.

thats the rules testers have to follow . i dont make um just follow them . ive been testing for 20 years and lots of things you have to pass a car on are quite wrong but thats the way it is

to put it another way . would you be happy if it failed , had to go away and fix something that should have passed AND pay again for a retest ?

Method of inspection
4. Examine the bodywork for excessive corrosion or damage resulting in sharp edges which are likely to cause injury.

Reason for rejection
4. A sharp edge or projection, caused by corrosion or damage, which renders the vehicle dangerous to other road users including pedestrians.
