Whats rev does the turbo normally kick in on?
Are these hard to build?
What "extra" bits are added? - fuel return etc?
Would you think one will be good on the back of my buggy?

With a 1330or 1380 A series block
Comption box and 4 pin diff
stage 3 turbo specal
Turbo dished pistons
Hybrid 3 turbo
1-3/4" SU carb
K&N filter
Orange diafram cluch kit
brakes off a cooper
Sports - Maniflow - back box
stage 2 LCB
Dump Valve!
After that, you'll hear it coming from about 5 miles away, and fly like ****e off a highly polished shovel!!
Like I said, I am lookin at 150bhp, in some that weight about 300kg... its not going to hang around much!

Not trying to start an argument or anything like that, but there's way toooo much hearsay and old wives tales with turbo engines.I was think of...
With a 1330or 1380 A series block
Comption box and 4 pin diff...what about drops?
stage 3 turbo specal.....eh???
Turbo dished pistons....what size, what CR do you require??
Hybrid 3 turbo......how hybrid?
1-3/4" SU carb.....not much choice there, needs to be a turbo HIF44
K&N filter
Orange diafram cluch kit....will not handle 150bhp and the torque that comes with it
brakes off a cooper
Sports - Maniflow - back box
stage 2 LCB....where's your turbo gonna go?
Dump Valve!
After that, you'll hear it coming from about 5 miles away, and fly like ****e off a highly polished shovel!!

when people talk of them being unreliable they are usually on about what they heard off bob down the pub who's sons mates cousin got a ragged metro from the scrappy and dropped the engine into a mini, wound up the boost and killed it in a week.
A turbo engine will be just as reliable as any other engine providing it had been built for the purpose. the best way to go about it is to start with a freshly rebuilt bottom end. they dont need trick cranks/rods etc as they dont need to rev high to make the power like n/a engines. go for a centre main strap for peace of mind if you want by all means.
your best bet is to go onto www.turbominis.co.uk have a read of the "beginners" and "how to" sections then start reading through all the old posts in the "help needed" section. There is a great wealth of info on that site that's been written by people who've been there and got the T shirt first hand. Even the turbo section on this site is very good, there's a lot of info in there already, with a lot of people who post on TM also browsing here aswell.
Dont take this wrong way dude, i'm not up on a soap box or owt. just thought i'd put some of the rumors to rest and give you some honest info that helped me a lot when i turbo'd my car.
