Whaaaat! what is that roof console made from? does it look like a homemade job?
you got any more pictures of that roof console?
looks cool

it's home-made alright but I may just keep it (obviously replacing the old AM/FM radio with a modern unit. Speakers and map reading light also built into it facing down

Just spent ages, and I mean bloody ages, clearing out my garage, taking shelving down, moving stuff into storage etc etc, just so I could put the clubman in the garage now we seem to have permanent arctic weather.
So late today the job was done, garage clear and ready.
Put the Cooper in first, then the clubman - spot the problem!!

if only the garage was 3" longer
perhaps I should have measured it first..................
if I get rid of the tumble drier they will fit though, just working out how best to broach that subject with " 'er indoors"

Mount the tumble drier upside down on the wall (Ours was designed to be mounted that way or floor standing), then drive the Cooper in bonnet first. Job done.
But she will have to lean over the Cooper to get to your smalls...

quick update on this thread as it's been a while.............
I had been thinking of selling the Clubman Estate but my son, who uses the car daily, has decided he doesn't want anything newer or modern or boring (good lad!) so the plan is to keep the Clubby Estate and give it a bit of a rolling restoration.
Think what swayed us most to keep it was that a month or two back I wrote to the DVLA for the history on the car.
That came back giving the name of the old boy who bought it new in 1970 and kept it until 2010. I dropped him a line and got a lovely letter back saying how pleased he was to know the car was still going and telling us how he and his family went to Holland and all over the UK in it in the 70's. He even said he had all the old MOT's and tax discs plus a box of spares and would we like them?
He gave up driving it in 2000 but couldn't bear to sell it so parked it in his garage for 10 years before he sold it to someone who gave it a quick freshen up, a new MOT and sold it to us in 2010.
This is how it looks today..........

but hopefully over the next few weeks / months it will get tidied up a bit and may even change colour!

What a lovely car!
I think you can always tell if a Mini has been heavily restored, and they lose some of the charm. Yours looks like its oozing character!

Wow, lovely mini. Must admit everything would of stayed the same from when you bought it if it were me. Love the dash, food console, lights, switchws, badges. Brilliant.
