im doing up a 1983 mini city e 998. just wondered how much insurance will be when/if i ever get it finished! is there anybody else with simular age/ claims that could shed some light. it would only be a second car used for fun at the weekends so i thought low milage classic insurance would be the way to go

I would have thought verry cheap dependant on if stored in a garrage or not. Dont think youd have to worrie about cost much since its only a 998 and a city e.
on a classic with limmited mileage could be under £100 a year for you

Mines a 998cc 1988 city E to however its my first car parked on street im 17 footman james were verry cheap for me TPFT just under £900 a year. cost same as my car did.

When I was 29 and had a Cooper SPI it was £125
now i am 30 with a 998 1973 pick up its £250 (pick ups are more sort after, and easier to steal)

But I do live in London.

Okay I just did the quote again with the exact same details. I haven't actually passed yet but I have set the start date of my insurance for the day of my test and for a full license. came out the same..

I'm 42, missus is 40. Both have clean licences and no claims. Cost £127 for both of us. 998cc - mods declared, unlimited mileage (I asked for a 6k limit but it was no more for unlimited) with Footman James. No claims discount doesn't always come into it with classic insurance. Biggest factors are the area where you live and if the car is garaged/on drive/on street at night.

All of these online compare insurance things are crap, search more specifically for what you want. It's what I did. I reckon I got about 30+ quotes before finally finding this one!

Dont do comparison websites, they are poooo !

Go straight to the companies, some you may have to ring up.
