a gen set is good because u can run the arc welding set 3 phase and 240 v power from just the one unit , possibly hire one from speedy hire or a welders supplys shop

In my experience you need a powerful generator to power a grinder. We bought a generator that claimed to produce well over the power needed for the grinder, but the grinder needed so much power on startup that it would just trip out the generator.
