Hi

I have a standard 1995 mini sidewalk.

I was looking to change the look a bit and thought about changing to alloy wheels.

First off I am thinking of getting some 6" wide wheels 12" in size so these would require the above arches to cover them (I've looked at other arches and these are my preferred ones). Do you need to modify the body of the car at all to fit these arches and tyres as in the sportspack ones. And do you need to modify anything else for the change in width on the wheels?

Also would this improve handling and would it be better than fitting 13" ones?

Thanks alot
Andy.

You will need to cut away a little of the arch, as 6 inch wide rims will rub on full lock.

Hi,
I'm looking for quality wide group 2 arches. Any recommendation for a place to buy them from?
Willing to pay more for quality item.
Thanks

so is it a big job, or just bedning metal out of the way?

also, how do you attach these arches to the body?

thanks again

just a bit of cutting and bending + repaint

if your careful it's all under the new wheel arch

arches fit by self tapping screws or pop rivets

I'm looking at doing this as well. I was hoping to fit normal size group 2's but I don't think they'll cover my 6" wide wheels, so I'll have to go for wide group 2's as well. Is it right that you can get some that use the same mounting holes as the 'special' arches?

You might not actually need Group 2 wide to cover 6x12 wheels.

This is my mates old Mini on 6x10 Wellers with S discs and regular Group 2s. They suck out by a tiny amount but with the lower profile of 12" tyres you'd be OK.

There are also a few Minis locally running 6x12 with Mini special and Wood&Picket arches with minimal poke.

Might be interested, Henry - Depending on how wide they are.

Does anyone have any photos of GP2 wide fitted?

I can only comment for my particular set up, I wouldn't like to say that this would be exact for your wheel / tyre / suspension set up.

On my thread pages, there are some more step by step pictures which may help you gauge exactly what you need to trim.

Let me know if you need more information

Regards

Steve
