Well done aboves. We all have to many bills without giving are money away.Driving used to be a great pleasure and not to many on the roads, even in the 80s.Solihull Village used to be a top meeting place to show off.Now most the roads have been clossed and its a mini City.Hardly any parking without a long walk and a big fee.
One of my unfairs.Parked in a posh solihull Multi. in a rush to bank.Bought my parking 2 hour ticket, displayed it.Got back in 1.5 hours to find it had fell off screen and of all places to go down heater gap.Told warden and he said no ticket i charge you for a whole day.Fast glove box pulled out and i just made it.Parked on a 2 hour only road and R.Rover broke down.Put big sign on it and left bonnet open.Told warden and rushed to AA brokers to join fast.Young boy behind desk said instant cover so i payed him, then asked to borrow his phone to call them.He then smiled and said it starts tomorrow and no money back.Glad he had a silk tie and agreed to call them. All was well.Another bit of bother in another Multi. My New Escort XR3 had a flat bat. So again going in a rush to bank with no jump leads to Multi i had to park on a slope and also in a safe spot for a flash car in its day.Theives loved them.Only spot was a Disabled one so i wrote out a sign to display in dash. When back Warden asked to see my badge,i said why it is car that is disabled,i prove it and speak small English. He called me many fine names and i drove off with his help on bump start.
Hope i cheered you all up. :-

they won't go as far as court as they know they can't prove you were there all that time and you were the driver

+1

This kind of thing comes up on Pistonheads all the time. And the advice every single time is don't pay the fine.

If its council enforcement, then your stuck and will have to pay the fine.

If its a private company, then don't do squat, as already said.

Everyone on PH just ignores the letters and then they finally stopped sending them.

Just recieved my letter explaining they can confirm I only used their parking services once in the night and theat the "fine" still stands. So the letter has been placed somewhere safe ready to be ignored.

Hell no. Don't bother doing that. They can just keep putting the fine up. They have no proof you were their so wont take you to court. Eventually they will just realize their wasting money on paper and ink and stop sending you all this crap.

Did you ever contract Mc donalds them selfs for cctv footage of your car in the car park?

It's not enforceable but if it was then it would never get past court, either way it's win win for you, if they cant PROVE beyond reasonable doubt that you were there without a break for the full time then they have nothing.

In the past my mom got a similar ticket and i wrote to the company and explained that i wasnt going to pay even (and i quote) 'if they huf and they puff and they blow my house down'
I think it may have worked because that was over 2 years ago and i havnt heard anything since haha

I had 2 or 3 letters sent 'claiming' to be a solicitor firm (all official looking and on the yellow paper) but we looked them up and they werent even a real solicitors! if you dont reply then they realise its not going to work and just go away

they work on the basis that you will get scared enough to pay as alot of people do, but they cant actually enforce anything. its all to do with fear >.<

i personally think the best thing is to ignor the letters completely, just dont reply :-

Mrs R got a £60.00 invoice from ASDA for parking over 2 hours - she went absolutely postal on them - went to the store with the receipt for £278.00 from that day, stopped off in the personal hygiene aisle briefly and then asked for the duty manager.............

when he arrived, Mrs R handed him the invoice and a small pot of vaseline, and explained it would be of great help when he shoved the document up his cavity.

we have since received 2 more letters with photographs and they insist we pay this 60 quid.

Ive read countless threads on forums where people haven't paid this company and nothings come of it. As im in the right they cannot claim anything from me, if it went to court which it won't I have 3 witness' to say I wasn't there, and they have no proof I was there, they never did send me the CCTV footage which I asked for, which they HAVE to send to me which is just helping me if anything serious comes of it.
