I love them as well by the way, my mates dad owned a garage and he had a red allegro with slotmags that me and his son used to drive around his yard.
I also rememeber a blue class 7 autograss aggro that had a rover v8 stuffed in the back, that was a giant killer!!
Good choice dude

It was yellow with a black vinyl seats. We used to go down Hackney market in it every Sunday and he used to always get it washed on the way back in the car wash. God knows why. I would have wanted as much dirt on it as possible, the dirtier it was, the less like a bruised banana it looked!
It was pretty comfy though! Back in the day when seats were like arm chairs and stuffed with foam.

My dad had a Police panda car in the form of an allegro when I was a nipper .....when he parked it with one front wheel on the pavement, and opened the door.....the windscreen popped out
I had a 1750 sport demonstrator......took a bend fast and the screen shattered...sounded like a shotgun...not laminated in those days. I beleive the police cars had the jacking points covered as their use could pop the screen.

That said, my Grandad traded in a Wolsey 3 Litre when he retired and bought an Allegro Vandom Plas. 1500 cc Twin Carb 5 speed, hydrospastic suspension, walnut dash, leather seats, picnic tables.
lovely. in 1976.

One man's hobby is another man's MENTAL illness.

Maybe not the best buy as he could have bought a decent E type for that price!!!!
