i was talking about this at work when discussing why ps3's are better than xbox.I did the towel trick on my son's,
plug it in etc, wrap it up, get it super hot, and it sometimes sorts its self out,
you can use the above method to resolder various bits.

I Think you all should make some extra Cooling to protect your expensive Game Machines. You can use any P.C. Fan and fit it in a box with large vents, run it of an old transformer 12 volts. You can use an old phone charger but it will run slower and quieter. Then put you box near or on top of it.
With a Dry Joint you have to look under the boards to spot Dull areas to re-solder.You may find a melted joint on any small part, look around the Hot area first.Sometimes the Board itself will have a melted link,to repair you can use wire for the bridge, that will last.
I have spent years in Ham Radio before the internet came out,Still new to me.With my large Burners(kilos) they would always fry in no time and there is no returns, extra fans helped cool them and they would last longer and more Air Time on an Over.My last Radio Melted in the end so with the Cost of another i have gave up a while.Even a C.B can be great if your Mates all get one to,great if you are all going to a Show or a Run.In the Birmingham Area there are many good Breakers over the Black Country to Chat to and loads of Truckers for Banta.
