An iPhone app would be good

Once again I ask, what would it do?

Just get any old broswer re-name it 'the mini forum app' set the mini forum to the home page and noone will know any different. :xmas:

I find apps harder to use than the full version, e.g ebay, facebook and google maps. They're also slower and take up space.

how about when you press the report button a mod gets back to you to find out why you pressed it and tell you what action will be taken.

this is something i do i didn't relies the rest didn't, i will bring this up in the staff room

+1

i never get feedback either

edit..... what if you want to report a mod without the mod instigating first? (not a direct question, more of a scenario)

you could always PM a member of the admin team and bypass the moderators

was just having a read of this thread http://www.theminifo...x...=119371&hl= and just thaught maybe it could be pinned or something in one of the sections. I think it would be a good topic to see how the world of racing is benefitting from the mini

How about a pinned topic in General Meets and Events purely for racing meets? We've got ones for shows but not much in there for the racing side of things.

I like the way you have changed the classifieds section back to how it used to be

Can I suggest that the 'For Sale' section is made a non-reply section to eliminate any unwanted remarks or comments on the items you are selling. I use another forum that has the same classifieds set up as TMF and it worked well until peeps started commenting on the price etc of items being sold, it then led to the usual arguing which you really don't need on a classifieds section. Any communication between the seller/buyer is done via PMs and if the item is sold, the seller edits their post to show that their item has sold.

I know there has not been any problems yet on TMF, just though it may prevent it happening in the future.

i imagin one of the reasons the for sale system changed back is that a potential buyer can ask questions...would be daft to retract that option

and they could on the old system...which kinda makes no sence to have changed it...i would rather, if i was selling something answer a question once on a thread than have lots of PM's asking the same things...the ability to set the record straight etc etc add bits of information which is needed, add other items at a later date without having to make a new topic etc

To be honest we'd rather trading was done out in the open, that way sellers can't sell the same item twice. If its all done behind closed doors then that make life much easier for the 'less honest' amongst us.

If anyone gets unwelcome comments just hit the report button.

I'm keen to make the new area fun to use however I will be keeping an eye out for pointless and unwelcome comments. Repeat offenders will find themselves unable to post or view this section.

when we changed the for sale section we went back to allowing buyer to post for a couple of reasons

first if a buyer post payment sent it is unlikely a scammer can sell the item more than once, something that did happen with the old system

second everything is out in the open if a buyer asks a question about the condition the answer is there on the forum for ever

if you don't like any comments about a item for sale click report :techsupport:

*dam shift beat me to it, took me 1/2 an hour to type that while bathing the children  *

Some form of 'reputation' that can be given to helpful posts/members, a greater rep would suggest a more knowledgable/helpful user :) Just a thought :L

just a suggestion which might be of use in the current climate.

if a thread gets closed maybe the person who closed its name should come up so those who have problems with said closure know who to contact rather than start a new topic??

or mods should always identify themselves with a brief explanation as to why it was closed.

some do this but maybe it should become a matter of course...?
