Ive been building this mini for about a year and a half and nows the time to carpet it.Im just wondering is there anything that needs to be done before the carpet goes down?E.g something that will stop the rust??Also Im looking to put in some sound deadining any tips on how to put in either the carpet or sound deadining would be grateful!cheers p.s just added a few pics if you fancied a look

When i recarpeted mine, i removed all the bitumen from the floor and went over the whole floor and bulkhead below the dash with hammerite. The best stuff for soundproofing ive come across for under carpets is jute felt, chris at retro retrims supplied my last stuff, he may be able to tell you where to get it from. i think mine was around 15-20mm thick, but i used mine to soundproof out my boot area.
I also carpeted the crossmember, gives it more of a finished look i think.
