my 1970 mini is getting stripped for restoration and at the same time im getting a metal flip front fitted. as my mini is a mk3 with the solid mounts to the front of the subframe and no the newer bushes will i need a mk3 front panel or since its going to flip can i fit either or is there a preference?
Also could anyone recommend if i should grind down and repaint the subframes before it goes away to body shop or just wait till it comes back? I was going to wait till it came back as i dont really have the time just now unless it is more advisable to do it before it goes to be welded/resprayed.

Thanks for looking

Dan

I'd say get a mk3 front panel, as the solid-mount front panel will be in the way of the brace bars - and you wont be able to fit them without cutting off the solid-mount flanges from the front panel, which kinda negates the whole point really doesnt it?
