are you thinking about getting them from midland wheel supplies? if so DONT DO IT! the ones from MWS are really dodgy, there is an inherrant design fault in them, i just got rid of a set. the problem is getting tyres onto them! it seems pretty much only MWS themselves can do it as they have some kind of magic/special tyre fitting machine that can do it? it is down to the position of the "well" in the middle of the wheel, and thats just the problem, its in the middle of the wheel, and not offset. i had 2 new yokos ruined when my tyre fitters tried to get them on, and i tried several other places too before looking it up on the net.

if you do a quick search on the net you will find plenty of people who have had the same trouble! i did see one guy, maybe off here, who brought a set off them directly, withtyres, and all was well until he tried to get 2 of the tyres replaced down the line, he had trouble with his usual guys, so went back to MWS and they fitted the 2 new ones, later the tyre bead gave out on the motorway and nearly totalled his car!

the tyre simply cannot stretch far enough to fit on the rim, and as such the bead end up ripping, and it seems if they do manage to get the tyre on after that, you end up with a lump in the tyre wall and eventually a blow out.

i have no idea if the huddersfield wheels are different or not, i believe they are cast differently and dont have this trouble.

not had experience with MWS but i do know that its easier to get tyres on my rims (superlights) if you put the rim on the machine upside down, so outside facing the floor.

dont know if this helps

sadly not as simple as that mate, if you look at the shape of the well in the wheel the tyre can only be fitted from one side. honestly do a search anyone who is interested, there are loads of other people who had this problem, it is the design of the wheel!

If your discs are 8.4" setup then yes you will need to change them, you can either get the cooper s conversion from minisport or minispares, or the fiesta brake conversion can be done.

I fitted the the cooper s conversion kit from minisport and it was very straightforward.

i went to a local mini specialists on friday to drop off some other alloys and noticed they had a set of the same 6x10 ultralite alloys which were off the car leaning against the wall, and having looked in the back of them i could see the casting in the back was totally different to the ones i had, however looked identical from the front.

out of interest i would like to see the back of your wheels Racer Pete, as im sure yours must be like the ones they had and not the ones i and other had, hence your tyres went on easily.

the ones i saw the other day it was plain to see the well in the wheel was about an inch from the back of the wheel, not smack in the centre like on mine, hence the tyres would be easily fitted from the back, rather than torn to bits trying to stretch the huge distance to the centre.
