I need to replace my rear 1/4 panels anyway, so I intend to weld as much as I can from the inside of the seam too!

i ve hardly had eny experience welding mate lol prob would be good i just dont like welding big parts but i spose if u take your time and you patient with it you ll get it right hope you do any way mate

i have de bumpered my mini
both front and back and welded the fron panel seams up
was a bit of work but well worth it

I'm not a fan of de-seaming but de-bumpering suits a Mini.
